荒川直子（Naoko Arakawa）さん
2002年に明治薬科大学薬学部卒業、薬剤師免許取得後、神奈川県横浜市にある社団法人三喜会新緑総合病院で薬剤師として7年間働く。その間、病棟での患者指導業務を行いながら、薬学生実習や若手薬剤師への教育へ従事。その後留学を決意し、準備のため地域薬局へ職場を変える。2010年夏に渡英し、University College London School of PharmacyのMSc in Clinical Pharmacy, International Practice and Policyへ入学。2011年9月に主席卒業。2012年3月より同校にて博士課程開始。博士課程では、国際薬剤師・薬学連合（FIP；International Pharmaceutical Federation）と協働で、薬学教育を国際的な観点から多角的に比較調査。博士課程後は、日本薬剤師会と英国王立薬剤師会（Royal Pharmaceutical Society）との協働プロジェクトにて、プロジェクト・マネージャー兼研究員として従事予定。

〈Standards vs. Excellence in Practice: 医療従事者の将来はどこだ？〉
医療従事者になる前の教育では「スタンダード」を基盤としているため、将来のキャリアパスを描くことが難しいことが多々あります。皆さんも将来どのように、実際に医療現場や患者さんの治療成果の向上に貢献していけば良いのか、という問題に直面したことがあるのではないでしょうか。
今回の講演では、医学者教育で博士課程もとられた荒川直子さんに、医療従事者のProfessional Developmentについて、アクティビティーを交えてお話ししていただきます。
Abstract
Pre-service education often focuses on the standards of the profession, which is hard to see future career pathways and advancement in future practice. This sometimes confuses students who want to devote themselves to the excellence in and improvement of healthcare practice, and often raises the question: how can I contribute into the better healthcare and advancing patients’ therapeutic outcomes? This is a common challenge that healthcare professional students face during the pre-service education. A presenter will provide some global and British experiences regarding this issue, and will facilitate developing the better understanding of such problems.
This seminar will aim:
・ To develop the understanding of a different perspective regarding the standards and excellence in healthcare practice as well as healthcare professional education;
・To describe some global and British experiences regarding the quality of healthcare professionals and practice in healthcare professional education and training environments; and
・ To address where future practitioners should aim towards the excellence in practice.
